Dance : Choreography
12/10/12
My choreography is to Ed Sheeran Small Bump instrumental venison and the theme is the poem. The poem is by William Henry Davies and the poem is called 'Leisure' it is about having no time to stop and watch nature watching life happen. My choreography so far is one minute thirty seconds long. It has Repetition of the head rolling around slowly to show me trying to look around at nature and travel to fit with the poem 'no time to stand and stear' the travels involve turns, contractions, alignment and elevation (different levels). The dance shows musicality, projection, repetition and the dynamic is sustained and free, every move should flow together, for example the roll though the body into the arm coming out to the left and then the arm going over the head straight to the right, holding right and the body body leaning to the right, head tilted left leg lifted into a lung back to the left should all flow and show weight transfers. I developed my choreography by replacing the turns and attitude with a contrasting move and a twirl that then goes back in to the body roll leaded with the head this fits better because my turns did not travel anoth in my performance and were in stable and when it came to a stop and head roll leaded with head i could not stop and was not facing directly to the audience, so one turn is better and the attitude i could not hold it in my performance, i pushed my weight over too much and wobbled so i replaced it with a leap backwards facing forwards and a turn that went better in to the double kick forwards.
